With Eilean, we took inspiration from a timeless woven motif – the classic houndstooth pattern – seen everywhere from the iconic jackets of Chanel to the tailored suits of Yves Saint Laurent. While it’s become a symbol of high fashion, the pattern has its origins in the Scottish Lowlands, where it was traditionally woven by shepherds.

Eilean offers a contemporary response to this heritage textile, reimagined as a striking design for a cushion or pillow. The colour palette carries a vintage sensibility, with soft, slightly sepia-toned hues that evoke, landscape, warmth and nostalgia, while maintaining a distinctly modern edge.

Crafted for Victorian Cross Stitch – a frame-free technique that produces a richly textured finish – Eilean offers an elegant, portable, and meditative stitching experience.
