Bypassing traditional patterns for modern abstract designs and bold harmonious colours, POMPOM Design make outstanding quality contemporary needlepoint kits and studio-made pillows.
Bringing together a love of needlepoint and surface pattern design, POMPOM was founded and is led by award winning artist Helena Ben-Zenou in collaboration with textile designer Daniel Rambaut.
Aiming to bridge the space between design, craft and interiors, and inspired by the Slow Movement, POMPOM’s commitment to contemporary design make them unique in the needlepoint world, appealing to new generations who love design, enjoy home-crafting, but may have never tried needlepoint before.
Constructed by hand in the POMPOM London studio, every kit is made with highest quality, natural materials from local British suppliers.
POMPOM kits are currently available from iconic London department store Liberty and San Francisco’s Needlepoint Inc.
POMPOM has also exhibited widely: at the Knitting & Stitching Show, Alexandra Palace, London; The Handmade Fair, Hampton Court Palace, London; Bust Craftacular, Bethnal Green; Etsy London Local group shows and pop-up shop; and at the National Trust’s Sutton House in Hackney.
Wider afield Pompom were also happy to feature in the August 2015 issue of CrossStitcher magazine with a double page profile and interview. We have also been featured in X Stitch Issue 1, Summer 2017, and recent kit mentions in House Beautiful and Cross Stitcher magazines.
